Purim

Purim (Lots) is a Jewish celebration of an escaped extermination by the Jewish people written in the Hebrew Bible. The Purim celebration contains a message of reflection concealed by its joyous nature. Although it is a minor holiday, it has taken on deeper proportion and meaning in Jewish culture and is celebrated as if it were a major holiday and an occasion to remember when fate turned around and when the Jews were about to be overwhelmed they managed to overcome the enemy. Alcohol and unbridled merriment are indispensable notes of the celebrations.
